Hasbro has disclosed a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to its network, prompting containment measures and an ongoing investigation with external experts.
The disclosure was made in a Form 8-K filing submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 1, 2026, detailing events that began on March 28, when the company detected suspicious activity within its systems. Upon identifying the breach, Hasbro initiated its incident response protocols, took certain systems offline to limit potential spread, and engaged third-party cybersecurity professionals to assist with forensic analysis and remediation.
According to the filing, the investigation remains ongoing, with the company’s IT team working to determine the scope and impact of the intrusion. As part of its response, Hasbro has activated business continuity plans to maintain core operations, including order processing and product shipments. However, the company warned that temporary measures could remain in place for several weeks and may result in operational delays.
Hasbro, headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is one of the world’s largest toy and entertainment companies, known for major brands such as Transformers, Monopoly, Nerf, and Magic: The Gathering. The company operates globally, with a significant digital and e-commerce presence that could be affected depending on the nature of the breach.
The filing does not yet confirm whether customer data, employee information, or proprietary assets were accessed or exfiltrated. Hasbro stated it is reviewing potentially impacted files and will issue notifications if required under applicable data protection laws.
While no threat actor or attack vector has been identified publicly, the incident reflects a broader trend of ransomware and data extortion campaigns targeting large enterprises with complex supply chains. The company emphasized that its remediation and containment efforts are ongoing, and outcomes remain uncertain.
CyberInsider has contacted Hasbro to learn more about the cyber incident, and we will update this post with new information as soon as it becomes available.
