Pokemon Developer ‘Game Freak’ Suffers Data Breach

Tokyo-based game developer Game Freak, known globally for its role in creating the iconic Pokémon franchise, announced that it experienced a security breach in August.

The breach involved unauthorized access to its servers by a third party, leading to the leak of sensitive employee data. The company apologized for the incident and assured stakeholders it was taking steps to mitigate future risks.

The breach reportedly affected 2,606 individuals, including both current employees and former contractors. Game Freak confirmed that it has individually contacted those affected by the leak, offering guidance and support.
